Gary started out on the NES and Famicom before PC gaming took hold in the late ’90s – Command & Conquer: Red Alert, Warcraft II and the like – which also sparked a lasting interest in PC hardware, from DOS and Windows 3.11 onward. He spent the 2010s as a computer technician for internet cafés and retail stores, and began writing for Gaming PC Builder in that period.
